About Me
Hi, I’m Erika Nicolle an art lecturer, artist, and trainee counsellor and my journey is about embracing creativity, healing, and connection. I have always been passionate about art, and I’ve spent years nurturing that passion as a freelance artist, showcasing my work in galleries and completing private commissions.
As I’ve grown, I’ve also discovered the power of helping others, and that led me to counselling. After becoming a qualified Ashtanga yoga teacher, I realised that I could merge my love for art with my desire to support people in a meaningful way. That’s when I decided to pursue a career in art therapy.
I believe deeply in the power of art to heal, express, and transform. My approach is about fostering a safe, compassionate space where individuals can explore their feelings and experiences through creativity. Whether teaching in a classroom or facilitating workshops, I’m dedicated to using my skills to empower others and help them tap into their inner strength and creativity.
Alongside my journey as an artist and counselor, I’ve had the privilege of volunteering in schools, helping children discover their creative potential and build confidence. Now, as an art lecturer, I continue to support students in developing their artistic voice while building self-belief. I’m passionate about supporting others, and I believe that by fostering a positive, open environment, everyone can thrive.
In a world where stress, anxiety, and uncertainty often consume us, Mindfulness with Art is about finding stillness in creativity. Art allows us to pause, be present, and reconnect with ourselves in a way that words sometimes cannot. It has helped me through my own struggles, and now, my mission is to help others discover that same sense of peace, healing, and joy through artistic expression.

My Experience & Training
My background in fine art, mindfulness, and counselling has shaped my approach to using creativity as a tool for well-being.
I studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, where I explored a range of artistic disciplines, from painting and sculpture to photography and digital media.
Alongside this, I trained as an Ashtanga Yoga instructor at the Yoga Vedanta Training Academy in Singapore, deepening my understanding of mindfulness and movement.
I’ve completed my Level 3 CPCAB Counselling Training, with plans to continue studying Art Psychotherapy.
My experience also includes working as an art lecturer, supporting young people in developing their creative portfolios as they prepare for further education. I’ve also taught art and textiles in schools, helping children build confidence through creativity.
I’ve taken leadership training with the Chartered Management Institute, helping me develop skills in mentoring and planning.
Through all of this, my goal has always been the same: to create a welcoming space where people can express themselves, heal, and grow through art.

Isles of Scilly Collection
This selection of oil paintings is inspired by the gentle landscapes of the Isles of Scilly. Each piece explores the power of water, sky and open space, with lighthouses, boats and sand dunes. These works invite a moment of stillness, reflection and calm, capturing the essence of Wellbeing With Art. The paintings were created and sold on the islands.
